Del Monte brand unification and acquisition

Overview

In July 2026 the company formerly known as Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. rebranded as Del Monte Corporation, consolidating the Del Monte brand under a single global organization for the first time in almost four decades. The change followed shareholder approval of the acquisition of Del Monte Foods Corporation II Inc. and its affiliates, a bankruptcy‑court‑supervised sale. The transaction excluded the canned‑fruit and long‑shelf‑life divisions serving the United States, Puerto Rico and Mexico, as well as the College Inn and Kitchen Basics brands. From 29 June 2026 the company began trading on the NYSE under the ticker “DMC.” CEO Mohammad Abu‑Ghazaleh said the unified structure would strengthen international presence, spur innovation and unlock growth in fresh and refrigerated segments, with Del Monte Italy srl remaining a major fresh‑produce operator.

Ten days later, Del Monte Corporation reported its second‑quarter 2026 results. Net sales reached $1.2 billion, gross profit $121 million, and operating income $33.5 million, reflecting a 20 % rise in sales and a 36 % increase in gross profit from the prior quarter, though operating income fell 51 % year‑on‑year. The March 2026 acquisition of Del Monte Foods expanded the company’s prepared‑foods platform and lifted the outlook for the fiscal year, with CFO Monica Vicente raising the expected net‑sales target to $625 million and adjusted EBITDA to $35 million. The company highlighted pricing actions, product‑portfolio changes and trade‑spending optimization that should add roughly $9 million of margin in 2026‑27, a 95 % on‑time delivery rate, and the upcoming launch of a “pink‑glow pineapple” product later in the year.
