In early August, the Coalition of Academics for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori met with the vice‑chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University to seek a partnership that would promote evidence‑based public discourse and assess the state government's performance in areas such as infrastructure, human‑capital development, and policy implementation. The coalition announced plans for a strategic workshop and conference in late September, involving academics, policymakers, and political leaders.

A few days later, Governor Oborevwori delivered the inaugural Professor Sam Oyovbaire Public Service Lecture, calling for visionary and competent leadership to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy. He highlighted the importance of character and patriotism in governance. In parallel, the Delta State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers praised the governor for approving an enhanced career‑progression scheme for university‑qualified teachers in public primary schools, describing it as a milestone for teachers’ welfare and a boost to learning outcomes.
