Turkey's summer regional festivals expand persist across regions years

The municipal‑driven cultural wave that began in early July continued across Turkey throughout the month. The summer circuit also covered earlier gatherings in Gebze, Söke, Çankırı and Sakarya. The wave extended to the Black Sea and Istanbul region. Arsin municipality launched its third Culture, Tourism, Art and Local Products Festival (25‑27 July) with concerts by Aykut Özer, Sinan Yılmaz and DJ Ceren Polat and stalls of regional foods. In Arnavutköy, the third Yeniköy Watermelon Festival on Karaburun Beach offered free sliced watermelon, heavy‑watermelon and carrying contests, folk music performances and attendance by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and former EU minister Egemen Bağış.
