Watson, a 40-year-old Air Force Academy graduate with 17 years of service, remains in pretrial confinement. His attorney stated that Watson acted while knowing the potential risks to his career and liberty. The Air Force has stated the confinement is based on allegations of continued misconduct, while Watson remains presumed innocent.
