Detran-MS driver training and instructor initiatives

Overview

The State Transit Department of Mato Grosso do Sul (Detran-MS) has initiated efforts to improve driver training and examination standards. The agency launched an anonymous online consultation for its 1,433 accredited instructors to gather feedback ahead of a Technical Alignment Workshop.

This workshop, organized in partnership with the Association of Transit Instructors of MS (AITMS), aims to standardize interpretations of regulatory changes and clarify operational procedures. The consultation focuses on four specific areas: evaluation criteria, routes and maneuvers, the mapping of exam locations, and the distinction between pedagogical practice and formal examinations. Training Manager Emerson Tiogo noted that the anonymity of the feedback process is intended to “encourage sincere feedback to improve the quality of driver training.”

In a separate administrative action, Detran-MS also announced a vehicle auction involving 78 units, including cars and motorcycles, as well as scrap vehicles for recycling.
