DIF social service initiatives in Tamaulipas

Overview

Social service initiatives and infrastructure support have been active through the DIF systems in Tamaulipas. In Jiménez, the ‘Transformando Familias’ brigades resumed operations, offering medical, psychological, and nutritional services, as well as educational certifications and legal deeds. This effort included specialized rehabilitation services through a collaboration with CRIT Tamaulipas.

In Tampico, the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) has continued its support for social service center maintenance. Following a 300,000 peso financial contribution in July, the CMIC donated 400 kilograms of membrane and 400 liters of waterproofing material to the Tampico DIF System to prevent leaks and improve facilities. Luz Adriana Villarreal Anaya, president of the Tampico DIF System, received the materials, while Karla Arteaga Cordero, vice president of CMIC Mixed Commissions, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to vulnerable groups.

Additionally, the DIF Tamaulipas system contributed significantly to the Teletón 2026 fundraising campaign. Through the distribution of 415 collection boxes across 43 municipal DIF systems and government secretariats, 2,481,304.80 pesos were collected. This total contributed to a state-wide fundraising goal of 3.6 million pesos, exceeding the previous year’s contribution of 1,883,237 pesos. The funds were delivered to support rehabilitation and inclusion services, specifically benefiting the CRIT Tamaulipas, which serves 1,000 children from Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, and Veracruz.
