Digital exam result portals in Africa

In late July 2026, several African examination bodies expanded online access to student outcomes. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) began publishing its 2026‑2027 results through a web portal and SMS shortcode, while Kenya’s Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) launched a similar online result viewer and SMS request service.

A few days later, Kenya’s National Examinations Council (KNEC) introduced an e‑Certificate verification platform. The new system lets employers, universities, and government agencies confirm the authenticity of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificates dating back to 1989, replacing reliance on physical documents with a searchable online database and integrated payment options.

Together, these initiatives illustrate a regional shift toward digital delivery and verification of examination results and credentials, aiming to streamline access for students, parents, employers, and institutions across West Africa and Kenya.
