Overview

Digital Extremes released the ‘Preludes 16: Of Hook & Hound’ update for the alpha version of its fantasy action RPG, Soulframe.

The update introduces several new gameplay mechanics, including a fishing system with various species and bait, and a companion bonding system where players interact with wolf pups through activities like feeding and playing fetch. While these pups are not yet mounts, the developer indicated that adult wolves intended for use as mounts are expected in a future ‘Warsongs’ update.

CEO Steve Sinclair described the inclusion of these features as adding more casual, “MMO-light” elements to the core combat experience.
