Digital Realty Trust dividend and asset restructuring
Overview
Digital Realty Trust announced a quarterly dividend of $1.22 per share, with payments scheduled for September 30 for shareholders of record as of September 15.
Simultaneously, its unit Digital Core REIT is undergoing a portfolio restructuring to expand its Asian presence. The trust is selling three North American data centers in Toronto, Los Angeles, and Virginia to Digital Realty for roughly $316 million. The proceeds, combined with new debt, will fund the acquisition of a 2.5% stake in the Loyang Close asset in Singapore and a 25% stake in the Digital Osaka 3 facility in Japan for approximately $176 million. CEO John Stewart stated the move establishes a foothold in the Singapore market.
