Digital transparency initiatives in Valencia municipalities

Municipalities in the province of Valencia are implementing digital transparency initiatives supported by subsidies from the Generalitat Valenciana and the Diputación de Valencia.

In Navarrés, the City Council is launching an ‘Intelligent Transparency Portal’ that utilizes artificial intelligence to allow citizens to query administrative information using natural language. This tool is intended to translate technical texts into simple language to reduce bureaucratic barriers. Massamagrell is also launching the ‘Massamagrell Avanza’ project, which features an AI-based search engine designed to provide precise answers from official documentation in everyday language.

Other municipalities are following similar paths toward digital modernization. Alfauir has completed a renewal of its web and transparency portals, focusing on restructuring its electronic office to use more accessible language and providing staff training. Agullent is currently restructuring its institutional portal and electronic office to ensure easier navigation and regulatory compliance.

Further advancements in digital governance include Bolbaite, which has established a new Municipal Registry of Associations and a dedicated web portal to centralize information for local collectives, and Teresa de Cofrentes, which has modernized its transparency portal and electronic office to focus on clear language and centralized access to municipal data.
