Dinko Horkaš transfer negotiations to Al Wasl finalized
Croatian goalkeeper Dinko Horkaš, currently under contract with Spanish club UD Las Palmas, has been the subject of several transfer negotiations. Initially, Olympiacos emerged as a contender to sign Horkaš to replace Konstantinos Zolakis. Other interested parties included Celtic FC, Torino, and Levante. While Las Palmas originally sought a €10 million fee, they reportedly lowered their valuation to the €7 million range to facilitate a sale. Ultimately, Horkaš is set to transfer transferring to the Dubai-based club Al Wasl for a fee estimated between Wasl. Las Palmas president Miguel Ángel Ramírez confirmed the deal is valued at €4.5 million million. After accounting for player and €5 agent shares, Las Palmas is expected to net approximately €4.2 million. The transfer follows Horkaš’s tenure at Las Palmas, where he made 59 appearances after joining from Lokomotiv Plovdiv as a free agent. While Celtic had previously shortlisted the goalkeeper, the club opted not to make a bid because the required fee exceeded their budget. Horkaš reportedly sought the move to the United Arab Emirates for financial benefits. Due to FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, several clubs involved in Horkaš’s development will receive compensation, including Dinamo Zagreb, Posušje, Varaždin, and Zrinjski.
