Disability inclusion in French sports

Overview

France is implementing various initiatives to improve accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities through sports. The French Ministry of Sports, Youth and Community Life released a guide to help organizers of major competitions build upon the legacy of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This framework provides practical tools and directories to assist in coordinating strategies for upcoming events such as the 2027 Cycling World Championships.

Complementing these institutional efforts, local organizations are conducting practical programs. These include discovery days featuring specialized bicycles to promote green mobility for residents in care facilities, as well as the Para Tennis Tour, which introduces participants to wheelchair tennis and sports for those with visual impairments or prosthetics.
