Disappearance and death of Fabián Falcón in Paraná River

Overview

Fabián Falcón, a 30-year-old resident of Chaco, disappeared on August 6 during a severe storm on the Paraná River near Corrientes. While on a small boat with three other passengers, Falcón entered the water in an attempt to secure the vessel with a rope after strong winds caused it to drift. While his companions were rescued, Falcón was swept away by the current.

Following a multi-day search operation conducted by the Argentine Naval Prefecture, local police, and firefighters, Falcón’s body was recovered. The search concluded with the discovery of the remains of the radiologist and lifeguard in a coastal area of the Río Paraná neighborhood, specifically near the ‘Bajada del Araña’ or ‘La Tosquera’ zone. An autopsy is expected to determine the exact cause of death.
