Disney+ has announced the release schedule for its upcoming live-action Korean romance-fantasy series, ‘The Remarried Empress’. Based on a popular Naver web novel and webtoon that has amassed nearly three billion views, the ten-part historical drama follows Empress Navier as she navigates a divorce from Emperor Sovieshu following his interest in a runaway slave named Rashta. Navier reportedly agrees to the divorce on the condition that she is permitted to remarry Crown Prince Heinrey of the Western Kingdom. The series stars Shin Mina, Ju Jihoon, Lee Jongsuk, and Lee Seyoung, and is directed by Cho Suwon with adaptations by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol. Following the initial release of a teaser poster, Disney+ confirmed that the series will receive its world premiere at the 31st Busan International Film Festival in the ‘On Screen’ section. The first three episodes are scheduled to be screened during the festival between October 6 and 15, 2026. The full series is slated to begin streaming on Disney+ on November 4, 2026, with a four-episode premiere. Subsequent episodes will be released every Wednesday, concluding with the season finale on November 25.
