The Oogie Boogie Bash, a Halloween-themed event at Disney California Adventure, has seen significant ticket demand and operational changes. As of mid-August 2026, ticket availability is decreasing; August 27, September 1, and October 20 have reached capacity, leaving only October 1 and October 27 available for purchase. As the event season progressed, Disney California Adventure implemented seasonal restrictions. On select nights throughout August, September, and October, regular park operations conclude at 6:00 p.m. to reserve the park exclusively for event ticket holders until 11:00 p.m. Guests with standard admission are required to exit the park at the start of the event, while event ticket holders are permitted entry as early as 3:00 p.m. For the 2026 season, the event runs on select nights from August 18 through October 31. A notable addition to the character lineup is the debut of Yzma from ‘The Emperor’s New Groove’, alongside appearances by Maleficent, Hades, and characters from the Haunted Mansion and Marvel franchises. Magic Key holders attending the event are eligible for exclusive perks, such as dedicated treat stops, special photo opportunities, and a keepsake gift featuring Yzma and Kronk. Disney has also implemented specific costume policies for the event. While guests are permitted to dress as Disney characters—a departure from standard park rules—costumes must be family-friendly and cannot be obstructive, offensive, or violent. Additionally, guests in costume are strictly prohibited from posing for photos or signing autographs for others. For 2026, Disney announced a new event-exclusive offering: ‘Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party,’ featuring a Haunted Mansion main float and characters such as the Hitchhiking Ghosts. The event also features the Villains Grove, described as a ‘self-guided sensory experience.’
