Dog attacks in Germany

Overview

Recent incidents in Germany have involved dog attacks resulting in injuries and subsequent police investigations.

In Würzburg, a 26-year-old woman was injured in the Ringpark after intervening to protect her dog from an unleashed animal. The owner, described as a woman approximately 45 to 50 years old with long black hair in a ponytail, fled the scene.

In Bornheim, a 77-year-old cyclist was knocked off his bike and bitten multiple times by a leashed dog. The owner reportedly failed to provide aid and fled the scene. The Bonn Police Criminal Investigation Department has launched an investigation, noting that authorities may impose leash or muzzle requirements under the State Dog Act if the animal is deemed dangerous.
