Ghanaian fashion personality Rosemond Akua Adobea, known as Nana Akua Addo, filed a petition on August 20 alleging physical, emotional, and economic abuse by her husband, Harold Norman. Following an arrest on August 27, Norman was granted bail for police inquiries but was subsequently hospitalized, delaying his scheduled court appearance. The investigation involves the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has visited the family to offer support and psychosocial assistance. Public attention intensified following the circulation of viral videos and photos depicting a domestic dispute. Addo’s legal team stated the footage was leaked without consent and raised privacy concerns regarding a minor child. In response, Norman’s legal team denied assault allegations, claiming a visible lip injury actually occurred in 2021 during an incident where he used a mirror to shield himself from a knife. They characterized the resurfacing of the footage as an attempt to influence ongoing legal proceedings. On October 7, 2026, Norman missed a scheduled court appearance due to his continued hospitalization, a status being verified by DOVVSU. Following his discharge, Minister Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey met with Norman to discuss family safety and emotional welfare. The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has announced that social welfare officers will monitor the wellbeing of the couple’s children to ensure a stable environment during the ongoing police inquiry. Amid the proceedings, Addo posted a cryptic message on Instagram, stating, ‘A GOOD DANCER SHOULD KNOW WHEN TO LEAVE THE STAGE.’ She also suggested she felt ‘free’ and that ‘the show just got started,’ fueling speculation regarding further legal action.
