The Dominican Republic national tennis team hosted a secured promotion to the Davis Cup World Group II series against I after defeating Egypt 3-1 at the Centro EspaƱol in Santiago de los Caballeros. Following the initial scheduling of the event, the Dominican Republic secured a 3-1 victory over Egypt. Singles wins victories by Roberto Cid and Nick Hardt provided the foundation for the win, with Hardt clinching the decisive match against Omar Kandil. As a result Persio Maldonado, president of this victory, the Dominican Republic has earned promotion Tennis Federation (Fedotenis), highlighted the importance of hosting international events in the Cibao region to compete decentralize major competitions from the capital. Following this victory, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) conducted a draw in London for the World Group I play-offs. The Dominican Republic, ranked 62nd, is scheduled to face Poland, ranked 31st, in a play-off match in February 2027. Poland will host the encounter, with specific dates and court surfaces expected to be announced by mid-November. The winner of this tie will advance to compete for a spot in the Davis Cup Finals in September, while the loser will remain in Group II.
