The anti‑corruption drive launched in June 2026 continues to generate major judicial outcomes. Prosecutors have linked the Senasa scheme, the “Coral” and “Coral 5G” networks and a security‑contract bribery network to the siphoning of billions of pesos from the National Health Insurance system. Operation Lobo, announced on 15 July, formally accused fourteen individuals and four companies, expanding an earlier indictment of former officials and firms. In the same week, Pedro Fernández Jerez was arrested on multiple high‑technology and drug‑related charges. On 23 July the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Administrative Corruption (Pepca) confirmed it will appeal the RD$7.5 million indemnity ordered against the Public Ministry in the Intrant (Camaleón) case, arguing serious procedural vices and a mischaracterisation of the astreinte. The appeal must be filed within 20 days.
