Droneland miniseries release
Overview
The science-fiction miniseries ‘Droneland’, based on the novel by Tom Hillenbrand, is scheduled to premiere on MagentaTV in early October 2026. The series is set in a dystopian near-future Europe defined by pervasive drone surveillance and advanced data analysis.
The narrative follows ex-soldier Aart Westerfeld as he is recruited by Europol officials, including Katarina Kush, for sensitive missions. The plot explores themes of artificial intelligence, power, and technological manipulation, specifically focusing on a world where crime investigation utilizes 3D digital reconstructions to analyze crime scenes. Following its MagentaTV debut, the series is planned for broadcast on ZDF starting in 2027.
