Reports indicate separate drowning incidents involving young males in different Indonesian regions.

In late September 2026, a 19-year-old man died in an irrigation canal in Banyumas after reportedly slipping while collecting water. A joint search and rescue operation located his body approximately 50 meters downstream.

In October 2026, a 15-year-old boy drowned in a retention pond at the Banten Provincial Government Center in Serang. The victim reportedly fell into a deep section of the pond, making rescue efforts by friends impossible. A search operation involving divers and rubber boats recovered the body later that evening.
