Drug trafficking enforcement in Slovenia and Serbia

Overview

Recent law enforcement activities in Slovenia and Serbia have focused on drug-related offenses and organized crime.

In Slovenia, police in the Goriška region arrested two Serbian nationals, aged 20 and 22, on suspicion of distributing various illegal drugs, including cocaine, cannabis, methamphetamine, and amphetamines. Authorities seized drugs, scales, paraphernalia, and cash during the investigation, which noted that the suspects had sold substances to various individuals, including a minor.

In Serbia, a 31-year-old Hungarian man wanted for organized drug trafficking was apprehended in Novi Sad. The suspect had been under international investigation since 2022. Following coordination between Hungarian investigators and the European Fugitive Targeting Units Network (ENFAST), Serbian authorities arrested the man, who had attempted to use forged documents to conceal his identity. Extradition proceedings have commenced.
