Drunk driving incidents in Poland

Recent reports from Poland highlight separate incidents involving intoxicated drivers operating vehicles while under legal prohibitions.

In Rucianem-Nida, a 35-year-old tractor driver faces up to five years in prison after being caught with over 1 per mille of alcohol in his system. The individual was already serving a 10-year driving ban and a prohibition on operating any motor vehicles. As part of the indictment, police have secured 51,000 PLN from the individual to cover potential future fines and penalties.

In Bytom, a 36-year-old man was arrested after a sobriety check revealed a blood alcohol level of nearly 3.5 per mille. The suspect, who was also under a court-ordered driving ban and operating an uninsured vehicle, attempted to flee from police on foot and tried to bribe officers.

Additional incidents of impaired driving have been reported in the Białystok area, where a 47-year-old driver was caught with nearly 4 per mille of alcohol. Other drivers were also intercepted after driving erratically or crashing into ditches.
