Following earthquakes in Colombia and Venezuela on June 24 and August 10, Colombian singer Karol G launched a relief fund through her foundation, Con Cora, during her ‘Tropitour’ performance at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The artist pledged to double all fan donations made via QR codes to assist in the reconstruction of homes in affected areas, noting it feels ‘incredible’ to continue with life while others are suffering. During the launch of the United States leg of her ‘Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour’, Karol G also featured guest appearances from Bruno Mars and announced that Venezuelan-American singer Elena Rose will serve as a special guest for ten selected stadium dates across the U.S. The artist used the platform to address humanitarian concerns by establishing a savings fund for the earthquake-affected communities. In Venezuela, the Wayuu Taya Foundation and flutist Huáscar Barradas are leading the ‘Aspirinas para el alma’ project, which provides psychosocial support to displaced families in La Guaira and Caracas using music and theater. Singer-songwriter Elena Rose, who will join Karol G ~~as a special guest~~ for ~~10 selected dates during~~ the ~~United States leg of the tour—including~~ selected U.S. dates—including stops in Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, and Miami—also announced that proceeds from her meet-and-greet sessions will be donated to humanitarian organizations aiding earthquake-affected communities in Venezuela.
