The Egyptian Ministry of Interior previously established the 2027 Hajj public lottery schedule, which was conducted in three phases from August 31 to September 2, 2026. Following this, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy approved regulations for the tourism Hajj season to ensure contractual clarity, with registration via the Unified Egyptian Hajj Portal running from September 4 to September 27, 2026. Regarding the civil society organization lottery, which selected 12,000 pilgrims from 66,000 applicants, the Ministry of Social Solidarity has ~~now~~ set a payment deadline of Thursday, September 24, 2026. This deadline is required to finalize executive procedures for travel and rituals. Winners who fail to complete payments through designated entities—such as Banque Misr, National Bank of Egypt, Banque du Caire, or Egyptian Post—will have their opportunity passed to a substitute pilgrim. The Ministry has approved three pricing levels for these civil association programs, which include meals but exclude airfare: Level One is 480,000 EGP (5-star hotels near the Grand Mosque), Level Two is 300,000 EGP (hotels approximately 750 meters away), and Level Three is 255,000 EGP (hotels approximately 1,500 meters away). Winners may verify their status on the official Egyptian Hajj Unified Portal using their national ID. To further prepare for the 1448 AH (2027) season, Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy signed a ‘comprehensive package’ protocol. This agreement, managed by the National Foundation for Facilitating Hajj, aims to enhance service quality for pilgrims from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) by coordinating logistics, accommodation, and travel with service providers in Saudi Arabia.
