Egypt is implementing a National Economic Transformation Programme to shift its economic focus from financial stability toward productive, private-sector-led growth. Following efforts to strengthen macroeconomic resilience—noted by official reserves reaching $57.2 billion and improved exchange-rate flexibility—the government is working to integrate fiscal, monetary, and sectoral policies to ensure sustainable growth. Building on this framework, At the government has outlined Alamein-Africa Forum 2026, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostam detailed a three-year strategy aimed at focused on improving the ‘quality of growth’ and growth,’ deepening local manufacturing. Key components of this plan include the launch of manufacturing, and enhancing government efficiency. Concurrently, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade reported stable strategic reserves for food security, noting that sugar stocks cover over 10 months and poultry stocks exceed five months, while maintaining subsidized bread prices for approximately 65 million people.
