Following a period of market stability, the Egyptian automotive market has seen the introduction of various 2027 model year vehicles. Initial entries included the Chery Arrizo 5 and the Chevrolet Optra. Both feature 1500 cc engines and automatic transmissions; the Arrizo 5 was offered in five price tiers between 740,000 EGP and 815,000 EGP, while the Optra was priced at 765,000 EGP and 790,000 EGP.
Subsequent updates expanded the market variety to include models such as the Nissan Sunny, Mazda 3, Proton Saga, and the Skoda Octavia A8, with prices ranging from 665,000 EGP to 2,250,000 EGP. During this period, the Chinese brand Forthing implemented price increases of up to 50,000 EGP across its 2027 lineup. In October, a new wave of price increases affected Soueast 2027 models. The brand’s agent, MANEAST, announced hikes ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 EGP, with Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) models like the S08 DM and S06 DM seeing higher adjustments. To offset these changes, Soueast is offering after-sales incentives such as a 6-year or 150,000 km warranty.
Recent developments show a growing range of budget and premium options. Budget-friendly models under 900,000 EGP include the Suzuki Alto (starting at approximately 535,000 EGP), the Proton Saga (685,000 EGP), the Nissan Sunny (665,000 to 835,000 EGP), the JAC S2 (775,000 EGP), and the Geely EX2 electric vehicle (789,900 to 899,900 EGP). In the premium segment, GB Auto launched the Deepal S09, a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) priced between 2.85 million and 3.1 million EGP, which offers a driving range of up to 1,000 kilometers.
