Egyptian healthcare professional recruitment issues

Overview

Medical and nursing professional syndicates in Egypt have raised concerns regarding recruitment and registration processes for healthcare graduates.

In July 2026, the General Syndicate of Physicians demanded that the Minister of Health and Population immediately release the results of the 2026 basic doctors’ recruitment movement. The syndicate noted that the delay since the June application deadline has caused anxiety among thousands of doctors and threatened to disrupt professional training tracks and health service delivery.

By August 2026, the Egyptian Nursing Syndicate reported technical difficulties faced by 2024 nursing graduates attempting to register their employment preferences via an electronic link. In response to these issues, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research pledged to resolve the obstacles. The Ministry of Health extended the registration deadline to August 31, 2026, to accommodate high website traffic.
