The television competition ‘El Grand Prix 2026’ has progressed through its summer season on RTVE. In early August, Quintanar del Rey (Cuenca) secured a significant victory over San Juan de la Rambla (Tenerife), earning 42 points and moving to the top of the leaderboard. A notable moment during this stage was the ‘Super bowls’ challenge, where a participant named Fernando, known as ‘Culete’, delivered a decisive strike.

By late August, Quintanar del Rey successfully qualified for the grand finale after winning a second semifinal against Altura (Castellón). In a highly competitive match, Quintanar del Rey defeated Altura with a narrow score of 34-33. While Altura performed well in several challenges, Quintanar del Rey gained a crucial advantage during the ‘superbolos’ test.

The victory was ultimately decided in the final game, ‘El Diccionario’, when the Quintanar team correctly identified that the word ‘zurriburri’ exists in the RAE dictionary, clinching the win by a single point. Quintanar del Rey is scheduled to face Polinyà (Barcelona) in the season finale on Wednesday, September 2. The championship episode will be hosted by Ramón García, with Victoria Marty and Miguel Maldonado serving as assistants.
