Electoral proceedings in Paraná

Overview

The Regional Electoral Court of Paraná (TRE-PR) has scheduled supplementary elections and a territorial plebiscite for October 25, 2026.

In Santana do Itararé, supplementary elections for mayor and vice-mayor will be held after the mandates of Élcio José Vidal and Joás Ferraz Michetti were annulled due to a ruling regarding “illegal vote buying”. The candidates for the position are Brunão Mota (PSD) and Zé Izac (PT).

Additionally, a plebiscite will be held for residents of Chopinzinho and São João to decide on the transfer of the Alto Mirim community. The vote will determine if the area should be incorporated into the territory of São João. Results will be sent to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) for final approval.
