Data from Portal da Queixa indicates that 205 complaints were recorded between January and July 2026, compared to 75 during the same period in 2024, marking a 173% increase.

The majority of these grievances, totaling 72%, are focused on the after-sales experience, specifically repair and maintenance (40%) and customer service or service quality (32%). Other reported issues include product quality and safety (16%), financial matters (6%), and legal or contractual concerns (6%).

BYD Auto and Tesla are the most frequently cited brands, accounting for 17% and 15% of complaints, respectively. While 71% of complaints target the automotive brands directly, 18% are directed at dealerships. Most complaints originate from Lisbon and Porto.
