Elektroprivreda Crne Gore financial performance

Overview

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) reported a consolidated net profit of 19.33 million euros for the first half of 2026. This represents a financial turnaround compared to a 30.50 million euro loss during the same period in 2025.

The company attributed this performance to increased operational efficiency and a reduction in operating costs, which fell to 134.6 million euros from 193.5 million euros the previous year. A significant factor was the decrease in electricity purchases on the wholesale market, which dropped to 16.2 million euros from 62.4 million euros in 2025.

Energy production was supported by the trial operation of the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant and favorable hydrological conditions for hydroelectric plants, including HE Perućica and HE Piva. Despite lower water inflows in the second quarter, overall production remained strong.
