The emergence of Physical AI technology is marked by new platform launches aimed at enhancing real-time interaction between machines and their environments. Seeing Machines introduced a Physical AI Platform designed to improve the contextual awareness of humanoid robots and industrial automation. MakinaRocks CEO Yun Seong-ho noted that many companies lack measurable productivity gains because models often fail to handle ‘long-tail’ variables, such as unexpected worker behavior. To counter this, MakinaRocks is promoting ‘Enterprise AI Sovereignty’ via its ‘Runway’ operating system. Other developments include KAIST and Daim Research’s ‘KAIROS’ orchestration platform for autonomous factories, and HD Hyundai’s pursuit of AI transformation to build intelligent autonomous shipyards. Additionally, Hankook & Company is linking R&D, production, and logistics data to develop AI for tire pattern generation. Expanding on this trend, Hitachi announced a strategic push into Physical AI during the Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2026, aiming for 500 billion yen in sales from its HMAX AI solution group by the end of fiscal year 2026. President Toshiaki Tokunaga defined the shift as a transition from simple automation to ‘autonomy,’ where systems make independent decisions. Hitachi is also expanding HMAX offerings to include ‘HMAX Cyber,’ a security solution using advanced models to identify vulnerabilities in critical social infrastructure. This movement aligns with a broader industry shift toward ‘autonomous AI agents’ designed to execute end-to-end processes with minimal human intervention.
