Emirates and dnata strategic expansion

Overview

Emirates has reported strong summer passenger numbers, carrying over 8.6 million passengers during July and August. The airline is currently operating at approximately 93 percent of its pre-disruption capacity and is focusing on fleet modernization and network expansion, including the introduction of new destinations like Helsinki and the expansion of its Premium Economy service.

During the Arabian Travel Market 2026, Emirates and dnata announced significant strategic expansions. Emirates signed over 30 agreements with international partners and national tourism boards—including those from Sri Lanka, Maldives, Mauritius, Madagascar, Malaysia, Japan, Kenya, and Mozambique—to strengthen its long-haul network. This included transitioning an interline agreement with Kuwait Airways into a mutual codeshare partnership.

dnata Travel Group also announced 12 partnership agreements involving hotel distribution, cruises, and travel technology. These include collaborations with Rotana and several cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and Norwegian Cruise Line. Additionally, dnata announced an 8 million AED investment to expand The Fort – Lisaili in Dubai.
