Endurance triathlon competitions in Europe

Overview

In late August 2026, Dutch triathletes completed high-endurance races in Scandinavia. Jonno Hekman earned the ‘Ironman’ title in Kalmar, Sweden, while Ronald van den Berg achieved ‘Norseman Black Finisher’ status after completing the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon in Norway.

By early September, the focus shifted to the Ironman 70.3 Knokke-Heist, a cross-border event between the Netherlands and Belgium. Tom Defoort and Anna Reiff were the winners of the race, which served as a qualifier for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship. Organizers announced that following the 2026 edition, the event will transition from the 70.3 distance to a full-distance Ironman format in 2027.
