Engineering awards in Czechia and Slovakia
Overview
Engineering chambers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia have conducted their annual award competitions to recognize excellence in civil engineering and design.
In the Czech Republic, the 22nd annual Engineering Chamber Awards organized by ČKAIT evaluated 70 entries. A jury selected 36 finalists based on technical complexity, safety, and social benefit. Four major projects were honored, including flood protection on the Svratka River, a suspended bridge in Pardubice, a transport ramp in Vsetín, and a residential transformation in Boršov nad Vltavou. Individual honors were also given to Vladislav Hrdoušek and František Mráz.
In Slovakia, the Slovak Chamber of Civil Engineers (SKSI) launched the third edition of the CING 2026 awards. The competition includes 25 projects ranging from motorways and hospitals to historical restorations. Public voting for the Public Prize is scheduled to run from October 19 to November 23, 2026.
