English Championship managerial performance struggles

Overview

In the English Championship, managers Philippe Clement of Norwich City and Nicky Hayen of Burnley have faced scrutiny following poor starts to their seasons. Early in September, Clement reported securing only three points from a possible twelve, though he maintained confidence that his team would improve if they continued their style of play.

During the same period, Hayen struggled to find a victory in regulation time, noting that the squad was still building physical condition. By mid-September, the situation for Burnley intensified following a 3-1 defeat against Swansea City. The club fell to the bottom of the Championship table, leaving Hayen to address questions regarding his job security by stating, “That I do not know, you should ask the board.”
