Enna Calcio organizational and stadium challenges

Enna Calcio is navigating organizational and infrastructural transitions ahead of the Serie D season. Initially, the club appointed Alfredo Cimino as head coach under new president Giancarlo Travagin, with Domenico Panico returning as a consultant and sporting director to manage squad composition and inherited debt.

However, the club’s leadership structure has since shifted. Following the appointment of Giovanni Pisano as sporting director, a proposal was made to appoint Giuseppe Anastasi as head coach, potentially marking the fourth coaching change under the current management.

Logistical difficulties regarding the club’s home ground, Stadio Gaeta, have escalated into a crisis. Although the stadium was scheduled for completion by August 29, it remains closed due to delays in lighting and fencing installations. This delay has prevented the club from launching season ticket campaigns or securing sponsorships, as a home venue cannot be guaranteed. The renovation project is supported by 600,000 euros in funding from the Sicilian Region.

In response to the situation, the club has expressed intentions to seek legal protection regarding the municipal administration’s failure to deliver the facility. Enna’s municipal sports assessor, Giuseppe Trovato, attributed the delay to a decision by the previous administration and former club management to postpone works until May. Trovato noted that while the decision was reasonable at the time, the current administration cannot perform “miracles” to rectify the timeline immediately.
