Şenol Güneş career and professional activities

Turkish football figure Şenol Güneş has been active in both personal projects and professional commentary. He recently visited a sports high school in Trabzon to mentor students and announced that he is preparing a documentary detailing his career milestones, including past transfer negotiations with major Istanbul clubs.

In a separate professional matter, Güneş addressed public speculation regarding the appointment of Sergen Yalçın as the new head coach of the Turkish National Football Team. Following Yalçın’s signing of a four-year contract with the Turkish Football Federation—succeeding Vincenzo Montella—Güneş issued a formal statement to clarify his previous remarks that ‘they did not consult with me.’

Güneş explained that the comment was a direct response to a specific question and did not imply personal disappointment, expectation, or resentment. He emphasized that decisions regarding the national team are the responsibility of the relevant authorities and institutions. He concluded by wishing Yalçın success, noting that the success of the national team remains a shared goal. Meanwhile, Yalçın has reportedly begun working at the Riva training facilities to assess conditions and prepare for upcoming duties, including player scouting during the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby.
