Overview

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Canada held the enthronement ceremony for Archbishop Apostolos (Evangelos Koufalakis) on September 19 at Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Toronto. Her visit focused on strengthening diaspora ties and Greek-language education, resulting in the reactivation of the Education Coordinating Office in Toronto and the funding of three joint or dual postgraduate programs between Greece and Canada, totaling 4.72 million euros via the Recovery Fund. Zacharaki also discussed language preservation programs, such as ‘Paideia’, which uses digital tools to teach Greek.
