ERT digital broadcasting upgrades in Greece

Overview

The Greek public broadcaster, ERT, is undergoing a digital transformation involving upgrades to its television, radio, and streaming platforms.

At the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair, ERT showcased its technological advancements, including the expansion of its DAB+ digital radio network, which at that time covered 78% of Greek territory. The broadcaster also highlighted improvements to its digital streaming service, ERTFLIX, such as enhanced viewing experiences and parental controls.

Subsequent reports indicate that the DAB+ digital radio network coverage has increased to approximately 80% of the country. This network hosts all ERT radio stations and provides high-quality digital sound and expanded programming options. Ongoing network upgrades may require users to re-save radio station presets.
