Brazil is advancing legislative and policy measures to address its rising cancer burden. The Senate's Social Affairs Commission (CAS) is reviewing a project to improve the National Cancer Patient Navigation Program to optimize care and accelerate diagnosis. Additionally, the Ministry of Health has opened applications for the National Program for Support to Oncological Care (Pronon) and the National Program for Support to the Health of Persons with Disabilities (Pronas/PCD), allowing non-profits to secure private funding for SUS-related projects via tax incentives. ~~During~~ Recent developments highlight significant shifts in treatment and systemic challenges. For the ~~‘Pink October’ campaign, health authorities have intensified~~ first time, the number of breast ~~cancer prevention and screening efforts. In Mato Grosso,~~ reconstruction surgeries performed by the ~~government~~ Unified Health System (SUS) has ~~expanded gynecological and mastology services, offering 1,250 consultations, 60 biopsies, and 250 mammographies. In Mato Grosso do Sul, the State Health Secretariat is organizing~~ reported a ~~specialized care line for oral cancer using the TeleEstomato/MS tool to accelerate diagnosis. This follows data showing oral cancer disproportionately affects men, who accounted for 82%~~ lack of ~~the 172 recorded deaths in the state between 2023~~ clear information regarding exams and ~~2026.
