Extreme weather continues to impact Mexico, driven by the Mexican monsoon, tropical waves, and the movement of Hurricane Trudy. Widespread instability has triggered intense hailstorms in the State of Mexico, covering streets in Teoloyucan, Zumpango, and Cuautitlán Izcalli with ice, while strong currents in Ecatepec and Tlalnepantla swept away vehicles. In Baja California Sur, heavy rains forced school closures in Los Cabos. In Sonora, the monsoon caused severe flooding; Empalme recorded up to 164.1 mm of rain, prompting the Mexican Navy to activate ‘Plan Marina’ and open shelters at the Teatro Ferrocarrilero. Guaymas also experienced flooding and downed utility poles.
