Various cities in Taiwan are hosting or organizing major esports competitions throughout 2026. Local officials reported that city funding for esports competitions has increased from 4 million to 30 million TWD. In Kaohsiung, the tenth anniversary of the ‘Six Cities Esports’ tournament took place, featuring League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Valorant. In the Teamfight Tactics category, the team ‘JPK’ won the championship and received a 60,000 TWD prize from Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai. The tournament seeks to integrate esports with cultural and creative industries.
