Finnish Ambassador Kai Sauer has highlighted Finland’s significant role in icebreaker production as the summit precedes the expected release of a new Arctic strategy by the European Commission. To bolster its presence in the north, the EU has committed over 200 million euros in investments to Greenland.

Romanian President Nicușor Dan is also participating to present a vision of interconnected security, linking Arctic challenges to those in the Black Sea, expressing Romania’s readiness to contribute to EU and NATO efforts regarding critical infrastructure and energy security.
