The committee also called for expanded sanctions against individuals facilitating disinformation or bypassing measures against Russia. Furthermore, the report urged the EU to reduce its dependence on foreign-controlled technology in critical sectors and emphasized that online platforms must take greater responsibility in protecting elections from deepfakes and bot-driven manipulation.
