EURO MOTO racing at TT Circuit Assen

Overview

The EURO MOTO championship held a racing weekend at the TT Circuit Assen. During the event, Dutch riders saw various levels of success. In the Sportbike category, Ruben Bijman won Race 1, while guest starter Jeffrey Buis narrowly missed a victory by 0.035 seconds after starting from the back of the grid. In the Superbike class, Twan Smits secured his first pole position.

Other race winners included Ricardo Brink in the Pro Superstock Cup and Timo Kubbinga in the Kawasaki ZX4-RR Cup. Regarding team developments, the ERC Kawasaki team officially withdrew from the rest of the season following the disqualification of riders Jules Bercot and Sasha de Vits.

During the fifth round of the championship, Team SWPN faced high temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius. Despite a crash during practice, Luca de Vleeschauwer qualified sixth, while newcomer Jay-Jay den Hoed finished the Friday sessions in fourteenth place.
