European cruise itinerary expansions

In late July 2026, major cruise operators announced new, extensive sailing programs across Europe. Celebrity Cruises introduced a "slow‑travel" concept for its 2026 European season, offering 59 overnight stays and more than 1,000 extended port calls on eight ships, including three Edge‑class vessels. The itinerary prioritises cultural immersion with extended visits to destinations such as Madeira, La Spezia, Santorini, Mykonos, Istanbul, and Amsterdam.

A few days later, MSC Cruises unveiled its winter 2027‑28 European schedule, deploying eight ships to cover the Western and Eastern Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Canary Islands, stopping in ports across Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Tunisia, Turkey, Greece, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Madeira. In the same announcement, Norwegian Cruise Line added a 15‑night transatlantic cruise on the Norwegian Gem, departing Italy for Tampa.

Together, these announcements illustrate a broader industry push to broaden and deepen European cruise offerings, combining longer stays, diverse regional coverage, and new transatlantic connections.
