A salmonella outbreak, identified in the United Kingdom around May 26, has expanded into a multi-country health crisis across Europe. Initially reported in the UK with over 200 illnesses and one death, the UK Health Security Agency described the outbreak as “unusually large and rapidly increasing.” By late August, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control documented cases in seven countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Austria, and Denmark. The total number of affected individuals has reached more than 340.
