Various European entities are implementing initiatives to collect and repurpose waste oils into valuable resources. In North Macedonia, the Oiltek collective reported exceeding national waste oil collection targets. In 2025, the group collected over 450 tons of waste oil, reaching a 28% collection rate against a 15% national target. The organization is investing in domestic processing and recycling equipment to increase local treatment capacities and reduce reliance on exporting waste oil for treatment abroad. In Poland, ORLEN and EMKA OIL have launched a pilot project in Płock featuring an ‘oilomat’ (or ‘Olejomat’) at a fuel station.
